STEP 1: SEARCH THOROUGHLY
Before investing in a replacement, perform a focused 15-minute search. Most “lost” keys are simply misplaced in common areas.
Check coat pockets and bags used in the last 48 hours.
Look under couches, car seats, and in laundry baskets.
Call the last places you visited to check their "lost and found."
Check your Bluetooth tracker app if you have an AirTag or Tile attached.
STEP 2: GATHER YOUR DOCUMENTATION
To have a new key cut and programmed, you must prove ownership of the vehicle. Prepare these documents before calling a professional:
Government-issued ID (must match the vehicle registration).

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) — typically found on the driver’s side dashboard visible through the windshield.
